2017 Infiniti Q60 vs. 2017 BMW 4 Series: two models with a lot to offer

2017 Infiniti Q60 vs. 2017 BMW 4 Series: two models with a lot to offer

If we are looking for a refined and comfortable luxury coupe that will be able to turn heads on the road, the market has many choices to offer us starting with the BMW 4 Series and the all-new 2017 Infiniti Q60.

Although it's always nice to have a lot of choice, the fact remains that it's not easy to make a final decision between the 4 Series and the Q60 unless you have targeted your needs. If these revolve around performance, the 2017 Q60 is probably the best choice. Let's take a closer look.

2017 Infiniti Q60 versus 2017 BMW 4 Series: the Japanese coupe offers you more for your money

Completely redesigned this year, the 2017 Q60 has a style that really turns heads in your path, but it is its value that is truly impressive. The entry-level model of the Infiniti Q60 family, the 2017 Q60 2.0t, is available starting at $ 45,990 and comes standard with a sunroof, 19-inch wheels, LED headlights and the rear-view camera. By comparison, the BMW 430i requires a cash outlay of over $ 50,000.

It is true that its 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine offers 248 horsepower compared to 208 horsepower for the four-cylinder turbocharged engine found in the entry-level 2017 Infiniti Q60, but still. Does a difference of 40 horsepower justify a difference in price of almost $ 5,000? You decide.

And if you find that 208 horsepower are not enough, you can turn to the Q60 3.0t which offers a 300-horsepower twin-turbo V6 engine and that is available from $ 52,990. A little more expensive than the 430i, it offers 59 more horsepower and a much longer equipment list. In fact, with equal equipment, the Q60 3.0t will always be more affordable than the 430i.

Infiniti Q60 Red Sport 400 or BMW 440i: a difference of 80 horsepower

For those who still want more, know that there are two other variants of these two models, the BMW 440i and the Q60 Red Sport 400.

The latter is available starting at $ 60,990 and comes standard with 19-inch wheels, steering wheel-mounted paddles, sportier brakes, a host of advanced driver assistance systems (Blind spot monitoring, accident prevention system with automatic braking, rear crash prevention system, rain sensing wipers and a rear view camera), in addition to the equipment found in the other versions of the Q60. No question about it, the Q60 Red Sport 400 is fully equipped.

But above all, its V6 biturbo engine offers 400 horsepower while that of the 440i develops 320 horsepower. And again, with equal equipment, the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport 400 will be more affordable.
